Created in the village of Saint-Cirq Lapopie, the installation MIDI DIX-HUIT (Noon, eighteen) brings the focus on the art space of Maisons Daura, where the studio has been temporarily converted into an alternative steeple. The location hosts a site-specific listening spot of the daily Angelus around 12 o’clock, expending the sound of the bell ringing and creating significant distortions of the time measurement of the village. The ancestral signal of the steeple is duplicated, spreading out an original stereophonic experience in the heart of Saint-Cirq Lapopie. From Monday to Sunday, the seven different sound compositions echo to the midday bell ringing as many oscillations between time stretching and spatial disorientation.

L’installation MIDI DIX-HUIT recentre le village de Saint-Cirq Lapopie autour du lieu des résidences d’artistes en convertissant l’Atelier des Maisons Daura en un clocher alternatif. Les jardins accueillent un point d’écoute quotidien durant lequel l’Angélus sonné aux alentours de 12h15 trouve un écho amplifié et une distorsion singulière dans l’expression de la mesure du temps. Le signal ancestral du clocher se dédouble pour déployer une expérience stéréophonique au coeur du village. A chaque jour sa volée, les sept différentes compositions restituées du Lundi au Dimanche répondent aux cloches de midi, oscillant entre dilatation temporelle et désorientation spatiale.
